Virginia D. (Barrett) Sottile, 96, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Ravenwood Assisted Living.
Born May 25, 1923 in Paint Township, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Andrew and Iva May (Lumadue) Barrett.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
She enjoyed homemaking, quilting, and crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Joseph P. Sottile, who died in 1990; a son, Raymond Sottile; a granddaughter, Beth Ann; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by six children, Janet Herman Sottile of Williamsport, Donald Sottile and wife Debra of Hagerstown, Joanne Malott Sottile of Falling Waters, WV, Joseph Sottile of Mt. Pleasant, PA, Anthony Sottile of Martinsburg, WV, and John Sottile and wife Emily of Hagerstown; two brothers, Chuck and Ronald Barrett; a sister, Allegra Gorzelsky; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, November 18, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Entombment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Mausoleum.
