Walter Frank Barnhart, Sr.

Walter, “FROG” Barnhart, age 79, passed away May 7, 2025, peacefully at Julia Manor where he resided recently.

Born March 1, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Clyde Barnhart and Doris (Hiser) Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Barnhart, Jr. (Dinky) and his loving wife of 58 years, Nancy Kay Barnhart.

Frog attended South Hagerstown High School.

Frog is survived by his children: Lisa Smith (Dave), Medina “Bedina” Scott-Tritsch (Kenneth), Amanda Lang (Craig), Chance Barnhart and Chancity Barnhart.

Grandchildren: Derek Jordan (Becky), Duane Jordan (Tara), and Nell Jordan (Matt), Tammy Eichelberger-Patterson (Anthony), and Nicholas Lang, Christopher Barnhart (BettyJo), Kristen Hebron (Russell), Chance Barnhart, Jr., Caitlyn Barnhart, Camilyn Barnhart, Cruz Hartman and Colt Hartman.

19-Great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Sisters and brothers: Mary Showe, Clyde Barnhart (Vickie), Donald Barnhart (Christa) and Donna Brown (Gary).

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing and services will be conducted on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at the Rest Haven Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, in Hagerstown, MD. Viewing will be from 11am to 1pm with services immediately following. Pastor Bob Hart will be officiating.

Family and friends are invited to join after the funeral service for a repass at the Western Enterprise Fire Hall, 526 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
