William Edgar "Jim" Renner, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home.
Born July 20, 1930 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Joseph Howard and Leila Bell (Burracker) Renner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Evelyn R. (Socks) Renner, who died October 1, 2019; as well as his three brothers, Howard "Bus", Ned "Peck", and Henry "Tub" Renner, all of Hagerstown.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Jim retired from the City of Hagerstown with the light dept.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer.
He is survived by his son, William J. Renner and wife Diane; grandson, Gary J. Renner and wife Regina; and a great-grandson, Chance T. Renner, all of Hagerstown.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cmetery, with military honors being accorded by the United States Navy.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.,Memphis, TN 38105.
